Idle Hands Experience is a Calgary mobile bar started by David Kim. It grew out of years behind the bar and a simple idea: good drinks and good service shouldn't depend on the venue having a bar.
The concept
Why a mobile bar?
I've spent years bartending and working in hospitality. The best nights always had the same things in common: a bartender who was paying attention, drinks that suited the crowd, and a bar people wanted to gather around.
Plenty of great venues don't have that. Backyards, barns, galleries, offices and parks can host an amazing event, but they don't come with a bar or the people to run it. Idle Hands Experience brings that part to wherever the event is.
Every event starts with a conversation, then a menu built around it. On the night, we set up, serve, and leave the space the way we found it.
Idle Hands Experience sits alongside Idle Hands Media, the photo and video studio I run for hospitality businesses. They share a name because they share an idea: keep your hands busy with things worth doing, and do them properly.
