Mobile bar services for Calgary events

Idle Hands Experience offers mobile bar service for two kinds of Calgary events: private events, where guests are invited, and public events, where drinks are sold. Each one is laid out below, with what's included and how liquor licensing works.

Weddings, parties, corporate

Private events

For weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, staff parties and other events where the guest list is invited.

What's included

  • A planning call and a custom cocktail menu
  • The mobile bar, set up and taken down at your venue
  • Bartenders for the length of your event
  • Bar tools, mixers, garnishes and ice planning
  • Zero-proof options on every menu

How does liquor licensing work?

In Alberta, private events with alcohol need a private special event licence from AGLC. We'll walk you through applying for it and plan the bar around what it allows.

Markets, festivals, pop-ups

Public events

For markets, festivals, pop-ups and other events open to the public, where drinks are sold to guests.

What's included

  • A short menu built to serve a crowd quickly
  • The mobile bar and a setup that fits your site plan
  • Bartenders and service through the event
  • Coordination with the organizer on layout, timing and power

How does liquor licensing work?

Public events need a public special event licence from AGLC, usually held by the event organizer. We'll work with you and the organizer so the bar is covered before the gates open.

How it works

How does booking a mobile bar work?

Private or public, every booking follows the same four steps.

  1. 1. Send your details

The date, the venue, a rough guest count and the type of event, through the form or Instagram.

  2. 2. Plan the menu

We talk through the crowd and the drinks you like, then send a menu idea and a custom quote.

  3. 3. Sort the licence

We go over which AGLC special event licence your event needs and plan the bar around it.

  4. 4. Enjoy the night

We arrive early to set up, serve through the event, and pack everything away at the end.

Service questions

What's the difference between a private and a public event?
A private event has an invited guest list, like a wedding, birthday or staff party. A public event is open to anyone, like a market or festival, and drinks are usually sold. The two need different AGLC licences, so tell us which one you're planning when you book.
Do you serve zero-proof drinks?
Yes, at every event. Zero-proof cocktails get the same care and glassware as the rest of the menu, so guests who aren't drinking still get something good.
Can we choose the drinks?
Yes. Start with our menu, tell us what you and your guests like, and we'll build a custom menu for your event, including a signature cocktail if you want one.

Ready to plan the bar?

Send us the date, the venue and a rough guest count, and we'll reply with a menu idea and a quote. If it's easier, message us on Instagram.
